	This year the St Albans Carnival is different in several ways. The theme this year is "Carnival Celebration - Sport and Healthy Living". The procession will begin as before at Bernards Heath at 1pm, but will then follow a new route encompassing St Peter's Street, Victoria Street, Beaconsfield Road and Hatfield Road, finally ending at Clarence Park. At Clarence Park there will be a village fair featuring numerous s and activities. There are plans for different areas of interest, such as a Sporting Arena, Kids Zone and a Teenage Mad Zone.

	Mela means gathering, and Birmingham’s Mela will see thousands of people coming to celebrate the arts and traditions of the Muslim culture. There will be traditional music and dance provided by local and national musicians, plus contemporary performances. There will also be games, a craft bazaar and food on sale.
