Vipassana Meditation Courses	Date	Ten day retreats regularly scheduled throughout the year

	Time	Courses begin on the evening of the first day and complete on the morning of the eleventh day.

	Vipassana means "to see things as they really are". It is the form of meditation practised and taught by the Buddha. Vipassana as taught by SN Goenka is a non-sectarian practice open to everyone regardless of of background or belief. It is a logical process of mental purification through self-observation. It is a practical technique which enables one to lead a more positive, balanced and happy life. SN Goenka is widely respected as the foremost lay teacher of Vipassana meditation. Eighty meditation centres around the world offer instruction under SN Goenka's guidance, and meditation courses using his approach have been held in 90 countries. Vipassana courses have been successfully run throughout India for many years, including retreats for prison inmates, business executives and children. Some courses at the UK centre are conducted in Hindi and English (see website details). Zee TV is currently broadcasting weekly question/answer sessions about Vipassana with Mr Goenka in "Urja".
