Bring
Bollywood home with The FILMIGAME; Put the buzz
back into Bollywood - 21st February 2005
Do
you know what Rani Mukherji's first Filmfare
Award was? Who is Kajol's famous mother? Can
you name the super hit movie from the 70's with
Amitabh Bachchan and Parveen Babi? If you know
the answers to these questions then you're obviously
a huge Bollywood fan who is in for a special
treat. US based company UNAMEDIA is launching
a new and exciting form of Bollywood based entertainment,
an interactive DVD trivia game entitled The
FILMIGAME.
The
FILMIGAME gives players a chance to test their
knowledge on movies, songs, stars, dances and
dialogues. So whether participants know the
name of Shah Rukh Khan's character in Dilwale
Dulhania Le Jayenge or Madhuri Dixit's famous
dance sequence from Tehzaab, everyone is guaranteed
to have an unforgettable and action packed time!
The
game is simple yet full of masti. The goal is
to be the first player/team to successfully
navigate the world of Bollywood movies and then
complete the Box Office speed round to win.
It allows players/teams to answer various trivia
questions in several different categories, competing
against each other, to gain points in all areas
of Hindi film making. This includes 'Lights,'
'Camera,' 'Action,' 'It's a Wrap' and 'Box Office.'
"
'Lights' concentrates on the stars of the movie
such as the beautiful Aishwarya Rai or the hunky
Salman Khan.
" 'Camera' looks at behind the scenes with
directors and sets, which includes the creative
genius Karan Johar.
" 'Action' covers scripts, dialogues, songs
and dances, such as Kareena Kapoor's popular
number from Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham with Hrithik
Roshan.
" 'It's a Wrap' takes care of everything
else from production to promotion.
" 'Box Office' is the final speed round
to win the game.
The
interactive DVD contains over 1200 trivia questions
and over 35 movie clips. The questions cover
all aspects of the colourful world of Hindi
cinema. It teases all Bollywood lovers and leaves
them wanting more of their favourite stars and
humming catchy tunes such as the theme tune
to Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
The
FILMIGAME has been designed and developed by
two dynamic Asian women based in the US, Sunaina
Anand and Prita Uppal. Their main goal as UNAMEDIA
is to bring people the most innovative and creative,
culturally targeted entertainment. They aim
to do this through advanced gaming and entertainment
techniques, such as The FILMIGAME. Sunaina and
Prita have grown up surrounded by the glamour
of Bollywood and as a result are very passionate
about Hindi cinema.
Both
ladies feel very enthusiastic about this new
game and are confident that it will be a hit
with movie lovers all around the world. Ms Anand
says "We are developing cultural connections
between people in a fun, entertaining and unique
way. Our goal is to help people understand and
enjoy Indian culture and traditions. And we
believe The FILMIGAME is a giant step in that
direction."
Uppal
concludes by saying "We have created a
whole new form of fun! We're taking the excitement
of Bollywood a step further by combining challenging
trivia with the movies. It's a culturally enriched
game that reaches South Asians worldwide."
The
FILMIGAME has received much support from the
Hindi film industry itself. Prakash Mehra, Satyan
Pal Chaudhry and Karan Johar have contributed
classic movies like Namak Halal, Sharaabi, Kabhi
Khushi Kabhi Gham and Kal Ho Na Ho.
Karan Johar perfectly sums up the game: "The
FILMIGAME is great entertainment. Whether you
are spending an evening with friends or family
you are sure to be shouting out the answers
to the questions at the top of your lungs! It's
an excellent way to get everyone together for
a fun packed time."
Jackie
Shroff polishes off by saying: "The Filmigame
is awesome! Really slick and well produced,
it takes Hindi Cinema to the next level. Its
a great fun way to spend an evening with friends."
